Voodoo set to go Pink next Saturday

POWASSAN, Ont. — For the second year in a row the Powassan Voodoos will be holding a “Pink in the Rink” game on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Powassan Sportsplex.

The Voodoos players will all wear sponsored pink jerseys which will be available via silent auction during Saturday’s contest versus the Soo Thunderbirds.

“We are thrilled with the success of our first Pink in the Rink game which we will now be making an annual event,” stated Voodoos President Jim Bruce.

Last year the event raised $5,000 for the cause.

“Thank you to the Voodoos, their fans and the community for supporting this initiative,” stated Gil Pharand, Manager of the North Bay & District Canadian Cancer Society office.

“At the Canadian Cancer Society we are taking action to save lives by supporting high-quality breast cancer research, educating women about early detection, and providing information and support services to those living with breast cancer, as well as their loved ones.”

Anyone interested in sponsoring a jersey can contact James Dahlke at jkdahlke@cogeco.ca.
