Voodoos ink another Battalion pick

The Powassan Voodoos have added another Battalion prospect to their arsenal as the Voodoos have signed forward Rhys Brown, the club announced on Friday.

Brown, a 2016 8th round pick in the OHL Priority Selection, netted 15 goals and 13 assists for 28 points in 30 games with the Barrie Colts Minor Midget AAA team last season.

Brown attended the Voodoos July camp in Barrie.

“Rhys is an intelligent two-way winger with impressive speed and the ability to impact the game on both sides of the puck,” stated Mike Mackley, the Voodoos Director of Player Development

“I’ve been consistently impressed with his combination of grit, speed and skill.”

Brown hopes to make the most of this opportunity with the Voodoos.

“I am really excited to get started with the Voodoos,” stated Brown.

“I see this as an incredible opportunity to reaching my next goal, of playing with the Battalion.”

Brown will join the Voodoos for Main Camp which begins on August 26th in Powassan.
