Voodoos re-sign two forwards

The Powassan Voodoos have re-signed forwards Jacob Erwin and Tyler Rolfe for the 2015-16 season, the club announced on Thursday.

Jacob Erwin, a Port Dover, Ontario product, netted 16 goals along with 13 assists for 29 points in 54 games last year split between the Voodoos and the Cochrane Crunch.

The 1995 birth year forward added 4 goals and 1 assists in 12 playoff games in 2015 as well.

Erwin came over in a trade that saw Stavros Soilis go to Cochrane back in November.

Tyler Rolfe hopes to bring his high energy game to the next level this season with the Voodoos.

In 45 regular season games, the Shelburne, Ontario product had 8 goals along with 12 assists for 20 points in his rookie season in the NOJHL.

The 1997 birth year forward added 1 goal and 2 assists in 10 playoff games for the Voodoos.

“We are glad to have the pair back in the fold for the new season, they both bring a great work ethic which we hope will become contagious again this fall,” said Voodoos GM and VP of Hockey Operations Chris Dawson.

The Voodoos hit the ice this weekend for a Prospects Camp at Pete Palangio arena.
