NOJHL’s top 3 remain same in CJHL rankings

SUDBURY – There was no change this week, in the order of appearance, for the three Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League clubs in the most recent Canadian Junior Hockey League Pointstreak top 20 rankings that were announced Monday.

The NOJHL’s Soo Thunderbirds, Powassan Voodoos and Cochrane Crunch were once again tabbed third, eighth and 14th overall respectively in the weekly CJHL rankings,which are compiled in conjunction with International Scouting Services.

Sault Ste. Marie reeled off a trio of victories last week, including a come from behind overtime triumph against Powassan Saturday, to raise their record to an impressive 26-3-0-0 on the season.

The Voodoos went to 23-4-1-1 overall after finishing off a three-game road swing at 2-0-1-0.

As for the high-scoring Crunch, the NOJHL goal leaders added 18 more to their league-best total of 192 as they skated to a trio of triumphs during the week that was.

Each of the three sides Soo (.897), Powassan (.828) and Cochrane (.803) all boast winning percentages over .800 entering play this week.

There was movement at the top of the CJHL rankings however with the new No. 1 Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL) moving up and switching spots with the now No. 2 Penticton Vees (BCHL).
