POWASSAN, Ont. – Picking up three assists from Parker Bowman, the Powassan Voodoos went on to defeat the Timmins Rock 3-1 Friday in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League first place showdown at the Powassan Sportsplex.

With the outcome, Powassan improves to 40-8-1-0 on the season with their 81 points giving them one more than 39-10-1-1 Timmins that also sees the Voodoos holding two games in hand.

Ryan Mills got the home side going 7:18 into the contest as he picked up his 15th of the season with help from Bowman and Seiji Martone.

The Rock countered with the equalizer off the stick of their captain Derek Seguin as he notched his 23rd tally of the campaign while also extending a consecutive game point streak to seven in the process.
