Trio of NOJHL clubs tabbed in CJHL rankings

SUDBURY – The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced their first in-season Pointstreak top 20 rankings for 2015-16 and three Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League clubs have earned recognition.

The Cochrane Crunch were rated ninth in the CJHL while the Powassan Voodoos were slotted in the No. 11 spot with the defending NOJHL and Dudley-Hewitt Cup champion Soo Thunderbirds garnering honourable mention status in the rankings, which are produced in conjunction with International Scouting Services.

Cochrane sits tied with Powassan in the NOJHL East standings with 12 points on a 6-1 record.

The Voodoos meanwhile are the lone unbeaten team in the league at 6-0, including a 4-2 triumph over the Crunch on Monday night.

As for the Thunderbirds, their 14 points put them atop the overall NOJHL standings as they boast a 7-1 mark early on.

The Alberta Junior Hockey League boasts the top two squads in the CJHL rankings with the Spruce Grove Saints and Lloydminster Bobcats sitting one-two respectively.

Rounding out the top three is the Trenton Golden Hawks of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.
