The Powassan Voodoos have went south of the border to add more experience and speed with the addition of 19-year-old Ryan Eckliff.
”We look forward to seeing Eckliff in a Voodoos uniform,” said Peter Goulet, Voodoos head coach and VP of hockey operations who recruited Eckliff.
“We welcome his speed and work ethic to our program.”
The 5’8. 164 pound Painesville, Ohio product split time between the Lake Erie Bighorns of the USPHL Premier and Atlanta Capitals of the NA3HL netting three goals and five assists for 8 points.
Eckliff is excited about playing junior hockey in Canada.
“Thanks to Chris (Dawson) and coach Peter for the great opportunity to join the Voodoos this year,” said Eckliff.
“I’m excited to become acquainted with my new teammates and the entire Powassan community. After staying in touch with coach Goulet from last years chowder cup, I’m happy to be joining a great program with an experienced coaching staff. I hope to add to the teams speed and skill as well as building upon my high work ethic and pass first mentality.”
Eckliff will join the rest of the Voodoos for the start of training camp on August 25 in Powassan.
