Voodoos hold Annual Awards banquet

The Voodoos held their annual banquet at Average Joes in North Bay Friday afternoon.

Forward Cayden Kowal was the major award winner as he won the Steve Harland MVP award and the Parker Bowman Playoff MVP award.  The North Bay product and former North Bay Trapper netted 5 goals and 2 assists in four playoff games for the Voodoos and during the regular season he tied for the lead in points and led the team in regular season goal scoring with 22 goals and 20 assists totalling 42 points in 37 games. Sundridge product Anthony Boyes won the Nate McDonald Most Improved Player Award. The former North Bay AAA Trappers forward had 10 goals and six assists for 16 points in 41 games during the regular season.

Marcus Krats, who led all defencemen with eight goals and 18 assists totalling 26 points, was named the Alex Little Top Defenceman award winner.

Defenceman Sam Rivet, a Battalion prospect and youngest player on the roster, was named the Harrison Israels Rookie of the Year.  The North Bay product had four goals and six assists totalling 10 points in 35 games this season.

Captain Jackson Smith was named the Eric Nagy Top Overager, and defenceman Dawson Coleman, who only had two penalty minutes in 41 games, won the Tomas Yachmenev Sportsmanship Award.
