The Powassan Voodoos finished up a grueling 52 game regular season schedule which wrapped up on March 16.

However in between that heavy schedule which began in late August at training camp, the Voodoos players and staff have been giving their time to the community.

On March 15, the Voodoos hosted a fun ball hockey and barbecue at Trout Creek Tire in Trout Creek.

The weather cooperated as youngsters played ball hockey with the Voodoos and then joined them for a hot dog or hamburger afterwards.

Peter Goulet, Voodoos head coach, has spearheaded the community activities.

“A big thank you to Kevin owner of Trout Creek Tire for thinking of this idea and hosting the entire event, Kevin a big thank you from all of us in the Powassan Voodoos organization, thank you very much to all fans, parents, Trout Creek Tire clients and billet families for coming too support this event,” said Goulet.

The Voodoos have been involved in a number of events including a Raising Reader program at the Powassan Library where players will read and do crafts with youngsters.

Goulet, who has been involved in junior hockey for more than two decades, has always taken pride in organizing and connecting his hockey team to the community and it certainly shows in Powassan and area.
