The Powassan Voodoos completed a pair of trades last week including one which brought a former North Bay Trapper home.
The Voodoos acquired 2007 birth year forward Noah Kozmick from the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners for a development fee and then moved American born forward Pavel Barclay to the Burlington Cougars of the OJHL for a development fee.
“This has been a long time coming and I’m happy to be back in my hometown community here with the Voodoos,” said Kozmick.
Kozmick had one goal and seven assists for eight points in 26 games with the Gold Miners in 2025-26.
In his final season of U18 hockey the Astorville product had 17 goals and 15 assists for 32 points in 26 games with the U18 AAA Trappers in 2024-25.
Kozmick looks forward to playing close to home.
“I’ve known coach Peter for a long time as I’ve been affiliated with the Voodoos, he’s a great coach and I am really excited to get started,” he said.
Kozmick says he has worked on being a 200 foot player in his rookie season split between the Lindsay Muskies of the OJHL and the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners of the NOJHL.
“Noah is a player we are familiar with for sure,” noted Chris Dawson, Voodoos GM.
“He brings a nice mix of skill and grit. We believe he can contribute for us offensively as he gains more confidence playing for coach Peter Goulet and our talented coaching staff.”
Kozmick will join his new teammates and prospects in North Bay July 4 and 5 as the Voodoos hold their annual Voodoos Prospects Camp.
