The Powassan Voodoos have hired Braedon Hos as their new head trainer, the club announced Friday.

Hos, who has worked as a trainer the past two seasons with the North Bay U18 AAA Trappers is currently enrolled at Nipissing University in the Bachelor of Physical and Health Education program.

“I am very much excited to be working with this kind of group at this level of competition in the NOJHL. I think it will be a great season for the players on the team and I will do everything in my power to make sure that is the case,” the 22-year-old said.

“Taking care of these boys is my number one priority but being able to help them recover, make sure they eat well, sleep well and stay on top of their game off the ice is going to be something I will be mindful of as well.”

The Voodoos add Hos after First team NOJHL All-Star trainer Matt MacDougall has opted to go back to school and play hockey with the Niagara University Purple Eagles ACHA Division 1 team this fall.

“Braedon was well liked and respected for his efforts as a trainer the past two seasons with the U18 Trappers so we feel this will be an easy transition for Braedon to join the Voodoos,” said Chris Dawson, Voodoos general manager.

Hos and the Voodoos will assemble on the ice on Friday, August 25 for the start of main camp.
