Voodoos stay 3rd; Rock up to 8th in CJHL Top 20 rankings; Beavers Honourable Mention

CALGARY, Alta. Winners of 15 games in succession and boasting an equally impressive 22-1 overall record, the Battlefords North Stars (SJHL) take over the No. 1 slot in the latest Canadian Junior Hockey League Top 20 rankings, released Monday.

Battlefords has excelled in Saskatchewan having only allowed 47 goals-against through their first 23 outings in SJHL play to date.

Down one notch to No. 2 nationally in the 131-team CJHL this week is the Brooks Bandits (AJHL), who suffered their first loss of the season last week in Alberta, as they too are 22-1.

Holding firm at No. 3, the Powassan Voodoos (NOJHL) have reeled off 19 consecutive victories to stay hot in northern Ontario.

Still at No. 4, College Français de Longueuil (LHJAAAQ), boast 10 wins in a row to their credit and are 16-1 on the year in Quebec.

Moving to No. 5 in the country is the Sherwood Park Crusaders (AJHL), who a current 20-2 mark.

The rest of the Top 10 in the CJHL this week include the Toronto Patriots (OJHL) 6th; Thunder Bay North Stars (SIJHL) 7th; Timmins Rock (NOJHL) 8th; Carleton Place Canadians (CCHL) 9th and the Wellington Dukes (OJHL) in 10th.
