Former Voodoos star a Hobey Baker Nominee

Former Voodoos forward Harrison Israels has been nominated for the Hobey Baker Award, which is an annual award given to the top National Collegiate Athletic Association men’s ice hockey player.

Israels, who is in his junior year with the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, is their team captain and has recorded 17 goals and 5 assists for 22 points in 29 games this season with the Nanooks.

The 24-year-old Mississauga product was named the NOJHL’s rookie of the year in his only season with the Voodoos in 2017-18 where he racked up 38 goals and 31 assists for 79 points in 51 games with the NOJHL squad.
