POWASSAN, Ont. –  Skating in their third game in as many nights, the Powassan Voodoos found their skating legs with a four-goal third period to pull out a 4-2 triumph over the Cochrane Crunch Friday in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League contest at the Powassan Sportsplex.

Starting strong, the visiting Crunch connected 57 seconds into the first period as Matteo Peca lifted the puck towards the net that got under Powassan starter Owen Wray that he could not locate before Peca got to it and stuffed it in.

Holding their one-goal lead deep into the middle session, Cochrane made it 2-0 in the final minute when Sebastien Ouimet wheeled around the net and was allowed to skate in front where he wired one over the glove of Wray.

The Voodoos cut into their deficit early in the third, while on the power play, as Jake Fullerton fed Bradshaw in the shot where he promptly whipped a low shot between the legs of Michael Nickolau in the Crunch net.

They then tied it at 8:32 on an Alex Little marker that saw him force a turnover in his own zone and skate down the ice then use a defender as a screen before finishing off his fifth tally of the year.

Despite their hectic schedule, Powassan continued to get stronger and got the eventual game-winner off the stick of Bradshaw as he took a nice cross-ice feed from Ryan O’Dell then proceeded to zip in the decider from the side of the left circle.

Cameron Lemcke then confirmed the come from behind win as he sent one from his own side of the centre red line into an empty net in the final minute to wrap things up.

Wray finished with 18 stops to pick up the victory while Nickolau faced 43 chances against in defeat.
