Powassan Voodoos stay No. 1 in CJHL rankings
Soo Thunderbirds jump to 6th; Cochrane Crunch fall to 20th

SUDBURY – For yet another week the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League has three of its member clubs tabbed in the latest Canadian Junior Hockey League Pointstreak top 20 rankings, which were announced Monday.

Fresh off a three-game road trip sweep the Powassan Voodoos are once again ranked No. 1 overall in the weekly tabulations while the surging Soo Thunderbirds jumped to sixth overall and the Cochrane Crunch were slotted 20th in the CJHL listings, which are compiled in conjunction with International Scouting Services.

Powassan is a perfect 13-0-0-0 to begin the NOJHL season as they hold down top spot as the lone unbeaten side in the 131-team CJHL.

Winners of nine straight contests Sault Ste. Marie only has one loss to date as the Thunderbirds sport a 14-1-0-0 overall record.

The T-Birds lead the NOJHL West with 28 points.

As for Cochrane they are currently 13-3-1-0 on the campaign with their 27 points pacing the NOJHL East, one point clear of the Voodoos, who do hold four games in hand on the Crunch.

Riding an impressive 15-game winning streak, the 15-1-0-0 Penticton Vees (BCHL) is the No. 2 ranked team in the CJHL this week.

Coming in at No. 3 overall is the Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL), who are also 15-1-0-0 overall.
