The Powassan Voodoos have added scoring forward Jack Kelly in a trade with the Brockville Braves of the CCHL, the club announced Monday.

Kelly put up solid numbers in U18 AAA play in 2021-22 with the Okanagan Ontario U18 Prep team where he registered 24 goals and 18 assists for 42 points in 44 games.

The Madoc, Ontario product has some familiarity with Peter Goulet, Voodoos head coach and VP of Hockey Operations.

“Jack Kelly will add some size to our line up and great depth up front with our forwards,” said Goulet.

“Jack is a very smart hockey player, Jack played two exhibition games for me last year with the Trenton Golden Hawks he was solid in both games for us I am looking forward to having him join our team the Powassan Voodoos.”

The Voodoos made room for Kelly after trading forward Jacob McLellan to the Cornwall Colts of the CCHL last week for a development fee.

“I’m excited to join the Voodoos organization and I’m ready to do what the team needs to help win a championship,” said Kelly.

The 6’2” Voodoos forward is expected to be in the lineup on Wednesday when they host the visiting Espanola Paper Kings on Wednesday, September 21, 7 p.m. at the Powassan Sportsplex.
