The Powassan Voodoos have acquired a veteran forward who has played more than 100 games for the hockey club.
The Voodoos added 20-year-old forward Caden Dubreuil from the Rockland Nationals of the CCHL for a development fee, the club announced on Thursday.
Dubreuil netted 22 goals and 31 assists for 53 points in 2025-26 with the Greater Sudbury Cubs and set up the championship-winning goal last season for the team that folded this off-season. Overall, he has netted 119 points through 159 games split between the Cubs and Voodoos since 2022-23.
“I am super excited to be back with the Voodoos,” said Dubreuil, who attended North Bay Battalion training camp as a free agent in 2024.
“I get to end my junior career with the team I started with. This is a strong team and I’m glad I get to be a part of it and work towards a championship season.”
Chris Dawson, Voodoos general manager, is thrilled to re-acquire the Sudbury area forward; a player the Voodoos moved to the Cubs almost a year ago today.
“Caden has developed into one of the best two-way forwards in Jr A hockey,” said Dawson.
“His style of play will fit in tremendously with the way our new coach Ty Pracek has our group playing.”
Dubreuil will join the team next week as they prepare for their home opener on Saturday, September 19 when they take on the Blind River Beavers. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
