The Powassan Voodoos will be playing three pre-season games to prepare for the start of the 2026-27 season.
The Voodoos will open the pre-season with the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners travelling to Powassan on Saturday, August 29 for a 7 p.m. puck drop.
The highlight of the three games will be a pre-season contest between the Voodoos and the visiting Elliot Lake Vikings, which will take place in the new North Bay Community and Recreation Centre on Tuesday, September 1, for a 7 p.m. puck drop.
The game will be the first-ever junior hockey game to be played at the new North Bay twin pad.
“We were thrilled to be asked by City of North Bay staff to play a pre-season game at the new rink,” said Chris Dawson, Voodoos GM.
“Our players and the NOJHL are excited about the opportunity; however, the Voodoos organization is very happy in Powassan. We hope the new rink will create other opportunities for junior hockey events. Maybe even as a future host rink for the NOJHL Showcase and potentially the Centennial Cup.”
The Voodoos will conclude their pre-season play with a trip up Highway 11 North to visit the Gold Miners on Friday, September 4.
